Winters End Audio Productions
Mckinney Botts (Owner, Mixing Engineer)
When it came time to attend college I chose to pursue a music business degree at Montreat College, just outside of Asheville, North Carolina. While there, I was the lead audio technician for the college, running all chapels and worship services while simultaneously working for the local church as one of the staff engineers. After a year and a half of studying music business, I realized that I wanted to focus my efforts on recording and mixing records. I moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to attend SAE Institute for a deeper education in recording. After graduating from SAE with academic honors, I interned at a recording studio in Nashville for about a year. Following my internship, I had the opportunity to work with several talented men. In the country music scene, I worked as an assistant engineer with Grammy nominated producer Kent Wells (Dolly Parton) and Grammy nominated engineer Patrick Murphy (Dolly Parton, Kenny Chesney, The Grascals). In the rock/pop genre, I worked as a mix assistant with Billboard charted J. Hall of JHall Inc.In 2014, I moved to Kansas City, Missouri, and began work as an assistant engineer and mix engineer in the metal/punk genre with Billboard charted producer and artist, Joshua Barber. I am now living in the Dayton area and have opened my own business, Winter’s End Audio Productions.
